When something goes wrong, a backup is only useful if you can restore it. cPanel lets you bring back your whole site or just the part you need.
You can restore a full backup, or just the home directory, a single database, or email forwarders. Restoring only the affected part is faster and safer than overwriting everything when you don’t need to.
In the Backup tool, upload your backup file and select what to restore. For databases, you can also import the .sql file through phpMyAdmin. Always confirm you’re restoring the correct, most recent good copy.
Once restored, check your site loads, the database is intact, and email still works. If you restored after a hack, also change all passwords and update everything to close the original entry point.
Restore the specific part you need from a cPanel backup, verify everything works, and after a hack change passwords and update too.
