Moving email to a new host without losing messages takes a little care. Done right, your mail moves across with no gap in service.
On the new host, create the same mailboxes with the same addresses before you switch anything. This ensures there’s somewhere for mail to land the moment you move over.
Use an IMAP transfer tool, or connect both old and new accounts in a mail client and copy folders across. IMAP keeps your folder structure intact, so nothing is lost in the move.
Only after mailboxes and existing mail are in place, point your MX records to the new host. Keep the old mailboxes active briefly until DNS propagates, so no message slips through the gap.
Recreate mailboxes, copy mail over IMAP, then switch MX records last — and your email moves hosts with no lost messages or downtime.
